We prefer to describe the system as “load-sensitive” rather than simply “speed-sensitive”.

All our kits work according to this principle. At low speed, steering effort is higher and the torsion bar twists further. A torque sensor detects this movement, allowing the ECU to calculate the amount of assistance required. As speed increases, the steering naturally becomes lighter, torsion decreases and the ECU reduces assistance accordingly.

A pulse generator is an optional additional feature. On kits equipped with a potentiometer wiring harness, the system uses a manually adjustable simulated speed signal. Turning the control anticlockwise simulates a lower speed and provides maximum assistance.

In certain vehicles, the ECU can also be connected directly to the vehicle’s electronic speed signal. We offer a dedicated wiring harness for this configuration, and a potentiometer-based harness can later be converted to use an electronic speed pulse.
